Is there a way to disable the numerous useless security settings in Microsoft Windows Vista?

I'm having problems with many of the security systems in Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. It refuses to let me open files that I know are safe because it thinks they could be potentially harmful. I just need to know if there is anyway to change the security measures.

The easiest way is to disable User Account Control (UAC), which is nothing short of irritating. This does no harm to Vista and it works considerably faster without it. Heres how its done:





Click Start and click Control Panel.


Click User Accounts and Family Safety.


Click User Accounts


Click Turn User Account Control on or off.


Click the box beside the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer option to remove the check mark.


Click OK.





You will then need to restart your computer.





I have been running Vista from the day it was released and this is one of the first things I did after installing it.
