Dont be upset at MSFT,,,

take it out on the US Department of Justice for messing with Microsoft.

Just use Automatic Updates

Select to "Notify You but NOT automatically download or Install them"

When the little nag screen pops-up telling you there are new updates available.....

*You can click it closed

*Then....When you have time,,check to see what's available.

Select them Individually,,and then let MSFT load%26gt;install them.

Any that you DONT want,,,UnCheck their selection box.

You'll get a screen which asks if you want to IGNORE that particular update during next update search.

You can chose to ignore it thru future updates if you want.....

If So,,,there's a line that'll appear at bottom of Update Screen asking if you want to see what's been excluded in the past.

So you always have the option of getting "old",blocked updates.

Example:

I have IE 7 blocked for now---I dont wanna fight it's glitchy conflicts,,,and I'm tired of MSFT nagging to install it,,,and tired of manually Excluding it.

So,,,it's blocked,,and I dont get bothered with it.

When MSFT finishes fixing it someday %26amp; it works correctly,,,

I can just "unblock" it,,,and give it a try then.

...........................

BTW,,,are You one of those Millions of folks who was always

"Performing Illegal Operations" back on Windows 95~98,etc???LOL

Thats the MSFT Geeks' idea of Humour,,

The Validation deal seems to be their idea of Revenge.

Odd how no one stops to realize that MSFT has Full %26amp; Complete capability to Delete /Deactivate anything on your computer.

Makes ya wonder why they bother US with their paranoid BS,,,

when all they gotta do is Disable any BOGUS XP installations.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~...
If you REALLY dont want the parasite running on your PC,,,it takes an effort to get rid of it.
And it gets into a cat vs mouse game because they workaround any new workarounds.
AutoUpdates is simplest solution.
But I DO suggest only allowing it to run in "semi-auto" mode so you can maintain SOME control of what is installed on YOUR computer.
Reply:Microsoft can sometimes help piracy victims to make your installation legitimate.
You may qualify for a complimentary copy of Windows or you may be able to buy a product key number.
Microsoft has information on these offers at its site (http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/downloa...
Reply:You dont and I cant beleive you would ask this.
YOUR COPY OF WINDOWS IS NOT GENUINE. Why should you get free updates the same as people who have paid for their software.
Buy a genuine license!
Reply:You could call them and ask for it.
