I am using a computer that someone gave to me but it doesn't have microsoft word program how can I get it?

Microsoft Office is not available for free (not legally, anyway). However, there's an excellent free alternative called OpenOffice. I have both MS Office and OpenOffice installed on my computer and actually prefer OpenOffice Writer to Word.

Believe me, you don't need MS Office. OpenOffice reads and writes Word files too, and it's just as powerful. In my humble opinion also easier and more consistent in use.
