What happens to Microsoft office 2000, if I download Microsoft office 2007 onto my computer?

I recently purchased the Microsoft Office 2007 for my home PC but I'm thinking about downloading it to my work PC since we're still using 2000. But I'm afraid of what would happen if I add the 2007... Will it delete or over ride the 2000 version? If so, is there a way I can download it without that happening?

it jus gets deleted/over ridden by the new one.. dont worry you can't have 2 version
Reply:Nothing it will still be there, I have done the same thing but with 02 and 06
Reply:it goes away
Reply:nothing i make the same thing like u and it result at the perfection
Reply:Set it up on a seperate network drive not on your local drive ...
Reply:nothing it just gets updated.
Reply:u might actually have 2 uninstall office 2000 b4 u install the other one
Reply:It will be replaced by the new vesion. There is no way, MicroSoft wants everything to be updated, so technically you'd be fine with the newer version.

Don't worry!

Hope I helped :)
Reply:Nothing will happen, you'll just have two versions of Microsoft Office on the computer. I did the same thing with Office XP and Office 2007, It keeps the old one until you uninstall it.
Reply:First, FYI, it's 'installing' not downloading.

It might replace the Office 2000 on your work computer. You want to be really careful of installing it at work as the CD Key may not allow you to install it on more than one machine and your work computer may not allow you to install outside software and some companies have regulations saying anything on their computers becomes their property.

Remember...Office 2000 docs will open in Office 2007, but in order to do the reverse, you must save it in Office 2000 format.
Reply:The Office version will be upgraded automatically to 2007 and the old one will be removed while the new one in installed.

But the thing you need to be careful for is that the new version has new extension for files like with adding (x) at the end of the extension; e.g (.docx , .xlsx , etc..) with a possibility to save files adapted in older versions (. doc , .xls, etc )
