How do I download microsoft windows security updates using a download manager?

I use free download manager software to download files and would like to use it to download microsoft windows security updates. If I use windows automatic updates it eats up my system resources and slows down my internet connection so i would like to try an alternative method to downloading the updates.

How do I download microsoft windows security updates using a download manager?
set your xp to automatic update
Reply:Hi,My thinking is like this, sorry dont mind. I think when u got microsoft windows original OS. Then u dont need to have download manager because when u go www.microsoft.com there u c downloads and there u can directly download security thing. no need to go for download manager. It makes your security upto date. try.

thank you
Reply:your other alternative is to set windows updates to manual and go to windowsupdate.com (in internet explorer of course, as the update site and firefox dont like each other.. go figure..)

I'm not sure if it will work or not, as they run immediately after downloading (meaning the activex controls built into windowsupdate.com probably wont let you simply download the updates to run when you want to)

the downloads section of microsoft.com should have the individual updates available as straight, saveable downloads as well..(for cases such as you want to do a wipe/reinstall, and want to make sure your system is fully updated before you put it online.. you download all the updates, and install them manually)
Reply:Microsoft update has to use the new microsoft update program they put on your machine before you can even look at anything.
Reply:Microsoft does not allow an alternative measure. These are security updates; for them and your system state to be in a secure state they must be distributed in a secure manner. I would not trust them if they could be handled by a third-party.
Reply:you cant you need to use windows own update manager because your windows might not be genuine thats how windows works
