How can I get rid of Microsoft Messenger sign-in page for good?

My wife allowed a friend of hers to use her computer to check her e-mail. My wife did not stay with her, so we don't know what she did. But, now, every time we boot the computer up the sign-in screen for Microsoft Messenger appears, and we have to click the little red button to get rid of it. I would like to find out how to get rid of the sign-in page for good, since we don't use Microsoft Messenger.

How can I get rid of Microsoft Messenger sign-in page for good?
Start -%26gt; Programs -%26gt; Windows Messenger -%26gt; Tools -%26gt; Options -%26gt; Preferences. Uncheck "Run this program when Windows Starts".
Reply:If this is something Relatively new, Meaning you have never Noticed it before, I would assume you Mean MSN Messenger, If it is MSN Messenger, and you don't want it on the computer.

Goto Add / Remove Programs In Control Panel, And Remove it. If you would still like it to stick around then When it pops up your going to look under Tools, Options, and Then Prefrences, FInd the Chek Box that Says Something along the lines of Run Messenger When Windows Starts and Un Check it.
Reply:Click the start button and click on 'run'. Then type in msconfig. Click run. On the screen that comes up, click the 'Services' tab and look for messenger and uncheck the box next to it. Also uncheck it if its under the startup tab.

If you need some more help send me a message.

Reply:Access its Preferences or Options toolbox and de-select 'Open on Windows Start-up' or something along those lines.
