You are licensed to use on one desktop and one laptop I believe. I am not sure what the authentication issues are.
Reply:3 PC's per license is correct Report It

Reply:If you bought 1 licence, then you may install and run it on 1 computer. There are some slight exceptions, but you can check the EULA for those.
Reply:One. let me repeat that ONE and ONLY ONE.
Reply:Read the software license. Depending on which version you got would depends on how many computers you can put it on. USUALLY unless you just bought OEM you CAN put it on more then one. But that all depends on the License. Some of the License let you put it on ONE PC and ONE laptop. (even though MS doesn't know which is which). So really in this case you would have two machines you can put it on. After that you well have to call MS to get it registers (unlock it). But you need to check your license agreement Its that box that pops up when you install it and you say you AGREE to follow it!
Reply:If you purchased the "household" license its 3 machines.

It should say on the box.
Reply:well, i've used mine on three different computers so far, and no worries.
Reply:NO. It will only work for one. Thanks for Mcrosoft's terms, we can't buy the $100+ software once and be done with it. It's a rip off, in my opinion. Though it is the best word processor out there.
Reply:I have it and it only works for 3 pcs. it says it on the back of the box at the bottom. :)
Reply:Actually, one is not the correct answer. You can use that license on up to three computers.
Reply:I would say maybe just one or two.

Some software only allows you to use on one computer like photoshop. But with Microsoft it may be the same or it might let you download on another computer. They just do that so you're not downloading it onto your computer then giving it to a friend.
Reply:Up to 3 Pc's for household use
