How do you set up a two pane document in Microsoft Word? AKA side by side documents?

Hi,

For school I am needing to use Microsoft words to keep my reading notes on one side and class notes on the other for convenience and so I can refer to notes during class. Any advice appreciated. TY.

How do you set up a two pane document in Microsoft Word? AKA side by side documents?
Open both documents. In either one, go to the Window menu and choose "Compare Side-by-Side with..."

Both docs will be next to each other and they will scroll together.
Reply:In the menu bar above the page, theres an icon with 2 colums and alot of lines.. Click that icon and select how many different colums you want. ..and if that dont work, Try using the menu, Format%26gt;Colums%26gt; select how many, and how far apart.
