How to introduce supercripts in graph axes in microsoft excel chart?

I have intserted a Microsoft Excel chart (graph) in a word document, and while labelling the axes, I have to use a supescript (specifically cm^2). Any ideas how I can do that? Thanks in adavnce for answering!!

In Excel, label your axis with "cm2" (leave out the quotes). Now, click in the label on the chart and highlight the 2. Right click it and choose Font (or, Format Axis Title in Excel 2003 or earlier) from the menu. In the Font dialog box click the Superscript option.
