How do I insert a mathematics equation in Microsoft Words?

There are several approaches. If you only have a few equations to make, use insert-%26gt;symbol and select mathematical operators from the pull down (I'm using word 2003, your mileage may vary). This basically will be slow and tedious as you have to insert one character at a time. uugh.

A second alternative is to get a word add-on for mathematics. Search the web, I think there are several and most are free.
