How can I recover Microsoft Word files from a reformatted hard drive ?

A PC was unintentionally reset to original settings. The hard drive contained many important Microsoft Word Files. These were the only copies of these documents. How can these files be recovered?

look if you have formated it then nothing can be done but if you restore the settings then you can find them exactly where they were , if you can't see them try search if they are not found use a recovery program they are free in the net , but i repeat if you formated your hard nothing can be done ,
